We arrived at the Champey Cooking Class and the chef asked us where the boy would sit while Scott and I cooked. We assured him that Blake would be just fine and that there would be three Hossacks cooking today. It was Scott, myself, Blake, a couple from Tel Aviv, a young woman from Ivory … Continue reading
Bayon might be my favourite so far. Though I’ve loved each one, and each one has it’s own feel. That said, Bayon really took my breath away. Today was the last day of our temple pass. Two more days of vacation. I am loving every second of Cambodia. Tomorrow we are doing a Cambodian cooking … Continue reading
This morning we visited Ta Prohm. Inside was perfect, but outside we were mobbed by begging or selling children. It’s tough to watch. They are sweet, dirty wee urchins. All over Cambodia, in all the literature, there are clear warnings asking tourists not to support these little ones, because if they are rewarded for selling … Continue reading
This morning we took a long ride out to Banteay Srei. It’s known as the Fortress of Women. The carving is so intricate and detailed historians believe it was carved by women not men. It wasn’t the biggest wat we’ve visited, but it sure was pretty. On the way we watched the sun come up … Continue reading
Yesterday we visited the Khmer Ceramic Fine Arts Centre. I thought we were going to paint on a plate or bowl, which we love to do, but I was way wrong. There was real clay and a real wheel and we made a real mess, but we had a blast. Mr Tola, our tuk tuk … Continue reading

There were some steep climbs. But it was all worth it. The early morning light was pretty cool. My best guys. … Continue reading
We went downtown for dinner last night to Siem Reap’s pub street. Dinner was great, but the banana pancakes for dessert are the best! Always photographed. Blake joined these ladies for a few selfies.
We arrived in Siem Reap late Saturday night and first thing Sunday morning we were playing minigolf.
Here is a short video of Blake and co in his recent performance. My sd card filled up and I didn’t get the whole number. Rats! But I got him dancing and his speaking part. Cool. He’s in yellow (go Falcons!) in the front at the beginning, back right in the middle and back to the … Continue reading
Blake’s performance this morning was amazing. I am honoured and humbled to be working with the entire SAS staff 100% of the time, but WOW! our music teachers really knock it out of the park each and every year. This morning was a PreK through Gr 4 production called i Dream of Music and it … Continue reading
