We have seasons passes til Chinese New Year, so we popped over for a few hours before the Golden week crowds came. We had a great time, ran into some friends and had a Cheesecake Factory lunch.

Blake’s team presented their robot, R.O.A.R. today for all the parents, fifth graders and first graders. They did a great job! In this picture, you can see the robot behind Blake. The backlight is terrible, but you get the idea.
Blake has two after school sessions going on right now. Animation with me and Ultimate Frisbee with Mr Anderson. He likes animation. He LOVES ultimate. James’ Ultimate team won the China Nationals last year and James got MVP of the whole tournament! We are getting spoiled learning with the greatest teacher imaginable.
Blake has been a Shanghai Hawk for 2 weeks now. It’s a big time commitment, bigger than we are used to, but it’s going okay. Practices are 2-3 hours long, twice a week, and games are even longer. He has a double header this Sat. Oh my. He had a game last Saturday and played … Continue reading

One of Blake’s favourite graphic novels series is Babymouse written by Jennifer Holm and illustrated by her brother Matt Holm. Matt stopped in for a visit this week and it was pretty awesome. Super nice guy – great with kids! The kids loved getting to meet this incredible artist.
Oh my. He’s looking very grown up. This beautiful boy of mine is 9 years old and in grade four.
